About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in Dunn, NC and help support individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges. Your Role in Our Mission As a Peer Support Specialist , you will use your personal lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery to support others on their recovery journey. Your experience provides a unique perspective that complements clinical services and helps inspire hope and empowerment for the individuals we serve. Working as part of our community-based ACT team , you will provide mentoring, coaching, and advocacy to clients in various community settings. Through these connections, you will help individuals strengthen recovery skills, develop independence, and build confidence in managing their own wellness. This role includes daily travel throughout the service area and participation in a rotational crisis response schedule as part of the ACT team. Why Join Us? Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist
  • Personal lived experience and recovery story related to mental illness or substance use
  • Minimum two years of experience working with adults with mental health needs and/or substance use needs
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance for community travel
  • Ability to work in various community settings and participate in rotational crisis call services
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to support individuals in recovery
