About The Position

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is an integrated behavioral healthcare agency operating throughout Arizona, providing residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness. CBI is recognized as a premiere non-profit provider of substance use and behavioral health programs, utilizing cutting-edge, nationally recognized, evidence-based models. The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) assigned to PCMH/OTP Community-Based Services will focus on providing one-on-one support and assisting with day-to-day problem-solving to aid in normalization and reintegration into the community. The PSS is expected to utilize best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction, and peer support when engaging with members both in the community and within the facility. This role requires embracing the recovery philosophy and actively promoting a safe and inclusive recovery environment for clients.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse field required
  • Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders required
  • Current AZ Driver’s License (Valid and in good standing)
  • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or able to obtain a CPSS certification within 90 days (3 months) of hire
  • Must have Fingerprint Clearance Card

Nice To Haves

  • Addiction and Substance Use Disorders certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform only the duties of a Peer Support Specialist
  • Address one-on-one support needs
