About The Position
JAMHI Health & Wellness, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven and dedicated Peer Support Specialist who can help our organization thrive as we help people live their own best lives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is in recovery and is passionate about helping others on their path to wellness. The ideal candidate should be able to act as a role model to those who are on their journey in recovery. They must be willing to share their personal recovery story when it is necessary, and also advocate for their clients and encourage personal responsibility throughout the clients recovery. Our Peer Support Specialist should be willing to learn how to use motivational interviewing and effective problem-solving techniques to help clients achieve their goals, by facilitating groups or in a one-on-one setting. This role will require the ability to collaboratively work with the Treatment Court team and other community partners to ensure comprehensive support for clients. A working knowledge of basic computer systems is a must as this position will need to be able to complete timely and accurate notes for all client encounters.
