The Peer Support Specialist - Rural Sites (Iowa CCBHC) is a fully integrated team member who provides highly individualized services across the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. This position is based out of the Harlan, IA office and requires regular travel throughout Southwest Iowa. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK A person in recovery from a serious mental illness and/or substance use will hold this position. The Peer Support Specialist supports client self-determination, engagement, recovery, and whole-health wellness. Peer Support Specialists use their lived experience to assist clients in building skills, connecting socially, and developing goals. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
