Requirements

• Peer Support Specialist certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in mental health or social services preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in crisis intervention and addiction counseling preferred.
• Basic computer skills and exceptional customer service skills required.
• Ability to monitor clients' conditions and recognize changes in mental and physical status.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mental health, drug and alcohol services.
• Training in Trauma Informed Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support services to clients in crisis and residential settings.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care services.
• Monitor clients' well-being and document observations in electronic health records.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure client safety.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and other professionals.
• Document and bill for all client interactions appropriately.
• Engage clients in their recovery process and support their personal recovery goals.
• Conduct group and individual interactions according to treatment plans and document accordingly.
• Train fellow personnel on the role of peer support specialists.
• Represent peers in Trauma Informed Care meetings and other committees.
