Spero Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist/Driver to join our awesome team! This position is for a Peer Support Specialist who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Must have a history of Substance Abuse Diagnosis and Treatment (one year post treatment).
• Ability to demonstrate two years of recovery involvement.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance.
• Must have credential Peer Recovery Supporter.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery education to patients for every phase of treatment.
• Provide a model for both people in recovery and teammates by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
• Assist patients in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
• Provide coaching to patients to develop their own plan for advancing their recovery.
• Support connections to community based, mutual self-help groups.
• Guide patient toward the identification and achievement of specific goals defined by the patient and specified in the Treatment Plan.
• Participate in the Clinical Review process and team meetings as appropriate.
• Promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy preservation, and enhancement of community living skills for patients.
• Use your experience to assist patients in finding THEIR voice and not echoing yours.
• Documentation, evaluation, and achieving outcomes.
• Knowledge and practice of ethical boundaries.
• Safely operate a company vehicle to transport patients to and from scheduled appointments, including to therapy sessions, community outings, or other designated locations.
• Maintaining a clean and safe driving environment, adhering to all traffic laws, and enduring proper vehicle maintenance.
• Accurately document patient transportation details, including pick-up and drop-off times, any relevant observations, and any incident.
