About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Asheville, NC. This is a meaningful opportunity to use your lived experience in recovery to support individuals living with serious mental illness and substance use challenges.

Requirements

• Peer Support Specialist Certification in North Carolina (required)
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (required)
• Personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery (essential to the role)

Responsibilities

• Share your lived experience to inspire hope, foster recovery, and empower clients.
• Facilitate weekly social, recovery, and educational groups.
• Provide or arrange transportation to help clients access essential community resources.
• Actively engage in interdisciplinary team meetings as a valued member of the ACTT.
• Assist in developing and supporting individualized recovery and treatment plans.
• Communicate consistently with referral sources and community partners about client progress.
• Maintain accurate records, including releases of information, care plans, medical documentation, and discharge/aftercare planning.
• Share responsibility for documenting daily team meeting minutes.
• Respond to client crises, including crisis planning, hospital diversion, and after-hours assessments (as part of the rotation).
• Provide ongoing support to promote recovery and stability.
