Job Title: Part-Time Peer Support Counselor Division/Program: Fresno Crisis Residential Treatment Facility (CRT) Starting Compensation: 18.00 - 20.00 USD Per Hour Working Location: Fresno, CA Working Hours/Shift: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-6:30pm Why Join Our Team? Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems required One (1) year of full-time experience performing non-professional, consumer directed services in a mental health, health care, or other social services agency / organization serving people with disabilities preferred. (Internship may be substituted) Valid California Driver's License required & eligibility to meet agency’s driving eligibility requirements. Valid CPR certification required within 30 days of employment. Valid First Aid certification required within 30 days of employment. Valid ProAct certification required within 30 days of employment. How you will make a difference: Provides one-on-one support, mentoring, and role-modeling to clients and/or family members. Encourages client’s interaction and socialization with other residents, providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model. Helps clients formulate problem-solving plans. Provides transportation to clients and family members as able and needed. Helps clients navigate peer support, wellness services and navigation support within the behavioral health system of care, other health systems, and community supports. Models and trains residents in independent living skills. Links clients to various resources, including housing, food, education/vocation, recreation, spiritual, mentors, mental and physical health, and social, as deemed appropriate in partnership with the team. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law. Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET, etc.) required.
