Serves as a Mental Health Peer Support Specialist providing recovery-oriented services to adults experiencing mental health and/or co-occurring substance use challenged within the community of Greenville, Texas. Utilizes lived experience and recovery principles to promote hope, self-determination, and wellness. Provides peer support services consistent with recovery-based and trauma-informed practices while maintaining compliance with state standards and organizational requirements. Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Lakes Regional COmmunity Center will provide pay for required training and certification for employees to obtain Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) certification. Responsibilities include providing individual and group peer support services, assisting individuals in identifying recovery goals, promoting engagement in services, and supporting skill development for community living. Assists individuals in accessing community resources, developing natural supports, and increasing independence through recovery-focused interventions. Completes required documentation in a timely and accurate manner, including service notes and recovery-oriented plans, while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Demonstrates the ability to model recovery, wellness, and self-advocacy while maintaining cultural sensitivity and effective communication with individuals served, family members, and providers. Supports individuals in navigating systems of care and encourages participation in treatment and recovery activities. Requires willingness to be flexible, resourceful, and creative in problem solving. Must demonstrate the ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely to keep team members informed of individual progress and needs. Keeps supervisor informed of day-to-day activities and service concerns. Ability to interact verbally with individuals receiving services, family members, and providers. Knowledge of community resources preferred. Ability to transport individuals when required. Ability to facilitate peer-led groups and recovery-oriented activities. Provides education and support using state-approved peer support and recovery materials. Demonstrates understanding of recovery principles, Stages of Change, and wellness planning. Working knowledge of electronic health record systems and basic computer skills required. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM
