Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana seeks energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professionals to join its expanding team. VOAOHIN is dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. A Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) is an individual who can use their own lived life experiences to help others (peers) participate in services to promote overall wellbeing. The PRS empowers individuals and provides a holistic, strengths-based approach to peer support. The overall goal of the PRS is to ensure high quality participant support throughout the duration of services in the program with a secondary focus to connect with new organizations to engage new clients through outreach and education. In conjunction with other program staff, the PRS aims to connect with at-risk residents in order to provide guidance and support to residents who struggle with addiction and mental illness. The PRS activities include one-on-one and groups to engage and retain clients. The delivery of service and documentation will be in accordance with Ohio Department of Mental Health, VOA policies and procedures.
