About The Position

Responsibilities: Assist clients in identifying personal goals and strategies for recovery using both one-on-one and group sessions. Support the clients in goal setting and development of recovery and relapse prevention strategies and plan by providing skills, knowledge strengths, supports and resources to aid them. Assist clients in navigation of multiple systems and community resources including medical services, legal, housing, transportation, childcare, education, DHS, Health Department, employment opportunities, etc. Assist clients in identifying recovery resources, support, remove barriers, and facilitate connections in their local communities for purposes of maintaining short and long-term recovery following completion of the AR CARES residential program. Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Assist clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy. Maintain ongoing follow-up contact with women who complete the residential program for a period up to 2 years. This includes providing ongoing support to women residing in the AR CARES Transitional program. Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and provide pertinent input regarding client concerns, progress, etc. Maintain client records to include documentation of progress as well as development, implementation, and monitoring of treatment/services provided. Responsibility is assumed for continuing educational and professional development, as needed, and contributions are made to the professional growth of others. Documentation of continuing education, etc., will be provided to the personnel department and copies kept in the employee’s record. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor or other applicable personnel. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent A minimum of 2 continuous years of abstinence-based recovery from lived experience with substance use and/or a mental health disorders. Must be currently approved as a Peer in Training (PIT) and receiving supervision or be certified through Arkansas DHS as a Peer Recovery Specialist (PR) or an Advanced Peer Recovery Specialist (APR) or a Peer Recovery Peer Supervisor (PRPS). Basic computer skills to be able to work within an electronic medical record, email, Microsoft applications including SharePoint, etc. Additional Mandatory Requirements: Ability to document accurately and professionally. Must be physically capable to receive verbal and written directions. Remains current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, CPR & First Aid Must be willing and able to work with all patients of Methodist Family Health, regardless of gender. Must have good auditory, visual, and olfactory ability. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing, and operating office equipment and other treatment equipment. Must be able to use a telephone to communicate verbally and a computer to communicate through written means, to review information and enter/retrieve data, to see and read characters on a computer screen, chart, or other treatment items. Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Flu vaccination is mandatory and required for all positions (subject to qualified exemptions).
