What You'll Do as a Peer Recovery Specialist with our Drug Diversion Program: The PEER RECOVERY SPECIALIST is primarily responsible as a case manager to assigned clients. Support clients in building social skills in the community that will enhance job acquisition. Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Peer Recovery Supervisor. Support clients in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness and the objectives necessary to reach his or her recovery and wellness goals. Teache clients how to facilitate their recovery. Teache clients techniques for identifying and combatting negative self-talk, identifying, and overcoming fears. Teache and role models the value of every individual’s recovery experience. Utilize and teaches problem-solving techniques with individuals and groups. Complete wellness plans- makes appropriate referrals to outside agencies.
