This position is dedicated to providing Peer Recovery Support services to individuals through Peer Recovery connections, in the Piedmont Community Services building and community. The Peer Recovery Specialist will offer outreach, support, education and advocacy in assisting the participants to access mental health services, substance use recovery support, employment, and other community resources that will help them reach their goals. Peer Recovery Specialist will facilitate groups at the center and assist with creating individualized Recovery, Resilience, and Wellness plans. They will be expected to meet with individuals one on one in offices and the community. The applicant must have lived experience in navigating behavioral health services to include Substance use and Mental Health supports. This position requires a minimum of 1 year sustained recovery, requires the applicant to gain their registration as a PRS through the Board of Professions within one year of hire, and to have a minimum of 6 months' experience providing peer support in a professional setting. The applicant must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must have High School Diploma or GED. Salary commensurate with education and experience as it relates to this position.
