About The Position
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or Peer Recovery Specialist will provide collaborative services to assist individuals in achieving sustained recovery from the effects of mental illness, addiction, or both. This position is responsible for conducting screenings and referrals for substance abuse, mental health, and ancillary services. It acts as a liaison between the clients, community programs, services, and community members. Utilizing their experiences in recovery, services include one-on-one peer mentoring, peer-led support groups, telephone outreach, assisting clients in accessing community resources, services, and affiliation with recovery-supported social activities.
