The Peer Recovery Coach in a Justice Setting at TC Serenity Recovery Connection provides essential support and guidance to individuals navigating legal situations, including those involved in specialty courts, community corrections, and probation/parole. This part-time role focuses on enhancing the recovery journey of peers by leveraging personal experiences and professional training to foster hope and understanding. The position involves direct coaching, data management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective recovery pathways for justice-involved individuals.

  • Provide direct ongoing coaching to individuals as assigned on a regular basis (face-to-face, on the phone, and virtually).
  • Provide Telephone Recovery Support (TRS) for assigned Recoverees and assist with TRS Program call list as needed.
  • Support front office staff as needed, including answering the phone or sitting at the front desk.
  • Ensure assigned paperwork is completed and maintained in accordance with SRC policies and funding sources.
  • Enter data and outcomes tracking in SRC database accurately and thoroughly.
  • Complete a Recovery Management Plan for all participants and engage Recoverees in regular follow-ups.
  • Refer family members to SRC Family Advocate and articulate core components and benefits of program offerings.
  • Facilitate timely referrals and placements from hospital to treatment, sober living, or recovery support providers.
  • Participate in ongoing recovery coach training/education and attend required meetings.
  • Provide shadowing and training for new volunteer, intern, and staff coaches.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certificate of completion of the first 30-hours Peer Coach Academy prior to hire required.
  • Must have lived experience with substance use disorder and continuous sustained recovery of two years or more.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Recovery Oriented Systems of Care, Trauma Informed Services, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Bilingual skills are encouraged.
  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $19.00 to $21.50 based on experience and certifications.
