At our Outpatient Mental Health Centers , we offer a variety of mental health services in one convenient location. We help children, adolescents, adults, and older adults address mental health concerns, co-occurring disorder problems and improve their quality of life. What to expect. The Peer Patient Engagement Specialist helps behavioral health clients engage in treatment and wellness by sharing their own successes and challenges on the road to recovery. The peer patient engagement specialist has lived experience who is responsible for daily outreach to clients who need additional support to stay engaged in treatment. While engaging patients in their care, the peer patient engagement specialist will be a point of contact. facilitate appointment scheduling, and will assist patients in finding resources to reduce barriers to care. Additional responsibilities include: Actively engage patients in treatment by providing reminder and follow-up calls for scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with patients. Document all contacts and forms in the electronic media record. Support clients in promoting recovery and self-direction by appropriately sharing previous current personal experiences in mental health treatment. Solicit and share patient feedback with Director and request appropriate after care, discharge, and foster care information. Other duties as assigned. What you'll get from us. What we need from you. Your high school diploma or GED. Two years of direct job-related experiences including experience working with customers, clients or patients required. Must be a person in recovery from a behavioral health condition. Knowledge of recovery, wellness, and community resources in social, medical, and mental health areas. Basic knowledge of health insurance technology needed. Peer Specialist training preferred but not required based on experience. Medical office experience is preferred. WHY SHEPPARD PRATT?
