About The Position

Peer Parent Partners are trained team members with experience navigating child and family support systems. They provide mentorship, advocacy, and guidance to parents and caregivers currently engaged with these systems. The role focuses on helping families strengthen skills, reduce isolation, and achieve stability and reunification goals. This position plays an important role in ensuring that family support services are delivered with empathy, respect, and cultural awareness.

Requirements

  • Experience as a caregiver who has engaged with and successfully navigated child- and family-support or related systems, either personally or through direct support of affected families.
  • Commitment to peer mentorship, advocacy, and family-centered approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, colleagues, and partners.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Cantonese.
  • Experience in community engagement, outreach, or peer leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strengths-based peer support and mentoring to parents and caregivers.
  • Facilitate support groups and educational sessions.
  • Support clients in navigating system processes, including service plans and related resources.
  • Collaborates with agency staff, community partners, and other service providers to coordinate support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in reflective supervision, training, and team meetings.
  • Advocate for families in meetings and community forums as appropriate.
