About The Position

University Health Partners of Hawaii is the Faculty Practice of the John A Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). In conjunction with the State of Hawaii's Department of Health - Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, JABSOM and UHP are expanding Hawaii UTelehealth (HUT) to provide access to no-cost addiction medicine treatment for the State of Hawaii. Our new Telehealth Addiction Medicine program is founded on the belief that everyone deserves a path to recovery. We aim to provide evidence-based, patient-centered, and non-judgmental care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), meeting them wherever they are in their journey. We are seeking a Peer Navigator, a current or former recipient of opioid use disorder/addiction mental health services who performs a wide range of tasks that are designed to assist consumers in regaining personal control over their lives and over their own recovery processes.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma, or High School Equivalency
• One (1) year of experience providing direct services to individuals with opioid use disorder/addiction mental health services or other behavioral health issues, paid or unpaid
• Certification as a Peer Specialist in the State of Hawaii (HCPS)
• Demonstrates some evidence of opioid use disorder/addiction mental health activity in the past two (2) years (i.e. advocacy, volunteer, support group involvement etc.)
• Certification as a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Facilitator
• Driver’s license, preferred. If driving to program or meeting site(s), must have current driver’s license, clear traffic abstract and willingness to use properly insured vehicle
• CPR and First Aid
• CPI Certification
