About The Position
At KVC Health Systems, we’re looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our team as a Certified Peer Mentor for Substance Abuse in Topeka, KS. This is your chance to turn your personal recovery journey into a powerful resource for others. Help guide, support, and empower individuals who are walking the path of recovery just like you. As a Peer Mentor, you’ll be the bridge that helps others navigate their recovery process. Using your lived experience and professional training, you’ll provide emotional support, resources, and advocacy to those overcoming substance use challenges. This is a role where you can be the change you want to see, creating a safe space where people feel supported and empowered to move forward.
Requirements
- At least one year of complete sobriety from all substances.
- Strong communication and people skills to connect with others
- Flexibility with work hours (including evenings and weekends)
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Driver's license and auto insurance
- High school diploma or GED required
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered guidance to clients on their recovery journey
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to individuals in recovery
- Collaborate with counselors to provide holistic, integrated support
- Lead activities that promote life and social skills for daily success
- Assist with problem-solving and support daily living tasks
