About The Position
The Peer Advocate position at Housing Works is a part-time role focused on providing one-on-one, person-centered counseling to individuals living with mental illness, histories of substance dependence, or physical disabilities. The Peer Specialist will serve as a role model and advocate, helping clients articulate personal recovery goals, develop recovery plans, and regain independence within the community. This position is integral to the Community Oriented Recovery & Empowerment (CORE) program, which aims to improve the functioning of clients through support and empowerment.
