About The Position

Under indirect supervision, the Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist I provides high quality sonograms in a dedicated pediatric setting for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Radiologist, adhering to all quality and patient safety standards, as well as standards for professional behavior, as defined by the organization. Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required .
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required , either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

Nice To Haves

• Two to three years’ experience performing dedicated pediatric ultrasound preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and all hospital and community caregivers.
• Management of patient priority.
• Interdepartmental teamwork for patient care coordination in outpatient setting
• Timely preparation and communication of preliminary reports.
• Demonstrated competency in all aspects of RIS and PACS as it pertains to modality specific functions and use.
• Adherence to all department policies, procedures, and protocols.
