About The Position

Opportunity to join an established pediatric pulmonology clinical practice comprised of inpatient consultations/rounding, ambulatory clinic, bronchoscopy, and virtual medicine. Pediatric Pulmonology at Southern California Permanente Medical Group currently consists of 3 Pediatric Pulmonologists across the Southern California region. Together, we care for the KP Southern California population which currently spans 4.6 million members and over 1 million pediatric members. We are recruiting a full-time Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our group in San Bernardino County (SBC). KP Fontana Medical Center is a member of the Children’s Hospital Association and is one of three tertiary medical centers in the Kaiser Permanente Pediatric Care (KPPC) network. At SBC, we serve as the primary centers of care for the diverse pediatric population of the “Inland Empire” area. Our services include pediatric hospitalists, NICU, PICU, and emergency department. We place great emphasis on fostering a strong culture of collaboration and support among pediatric medical and surgical specialties not only between SBC service area but also across the KP Southern California region. Finally, we play an active role in training the next generation of physicians both in teaching resident physicians and as a designated clerkship site for the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. About SCPMG The philosophy and beliefs of Southern California Permanente Medical Group are rooted in the founding principles of the Kaiser Permanente integrated managed care partnership established in 1945 between physicians and the Kaiser Foundation. That word – partnership – is important. We are a physician-led partnership with a mission to transform the practice of medicine. At SCPMG, we continue to empower our providers to lead. We understand that our success is made possible through the skills, ambition and leadership of our physicians and professional staff. We invest in our physicians and staff through continuing education, training, technology support and a nation-leading Physician Wellness program. And to further the legacy of our philosophy we are investing in the future: the new Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine is training future generations of doctors to practice responsible, ethical, collaborative and fulfilling medicine. We continually improve the health and wellness of our patients, our physicians, and our communities with our equation of responsible, ethical and effective care. Join us as we continue to deliver The Answer to Healthcare in America. About the area SCPMG San Bernardino County serves a population in the northeastern section of the LA Basin that’s as diverse topographically as culturally. High-desert hiking, skiing at Big Bear, water-skiing on Lake Arrowhead, and mountain biking on Mt. Baldy are all close by—as are very affordable options for home-buying. Physicians and staff members enjoy the seasons, with fall colors and prominent views of snow-capped mountains. The area also offers a variety of dining, entertainment, and cultural options. The adjacent Riverside area is a convenient gateway to Southern California’s natural wonders, with excellent proximity to the San Bernardino National Forest, Big Bear Lake, and Lake Arrowhead (hiking, snow- and water-skiing), as well as the low and high deserts—including Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park. Riverside itself has a nice, modern downtown, and our area offers relatively affordable housing and less traffic than others in the region. Working here Cultivated over a 70-year history—the region’s oldest—San Bernardino County’s culture is one of teamwork, respect, integrity, and diversity. Despite its longevity, our area is characterized by growth: nearly 500 new physicians have come aboard in the past five years from around the county, infusing the area with a dynamic, youthful energy and fresh ideas. San Bernardino County is also one the region’s largest centers, with two new hospitals and a wide range of services. Its breadth and depth offer physicians a myriad of opportunities for leadership, specializing, academic pursuits, social activities, and provide a high level of professional support. Wellness and life balance are actively promoted; the area’s nurturing, family environment fosters good health—mental and physical—further enabling its team to contribute to the diverse San Bernardino County community.
