The Pediatric Psychiatry job opening in Duluth, MN offers two distinct positions: one for inpatient care and another for outpatient care. The inpatient position is a full-time, permanent role that allows for a flexible schedule, with options for working 7 days on followed by 7 days off, or 14 days on followed by 14 days off. This role is situated within a Child/Adolescent inpatient unit, where the ideal candidate is expected to be a strong team player, desiring a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) commitment. Notably, there is no outpatient clinic requirement for this position, allowing the psychiatrist to focus solely on inpatient care. The outpatient position is also a full-time, permanent role, focusing on behavioral health within a clinic practice. The psychiatrist will join a growing team of 8 adult psychiatrists (soon to be 10) and 4 child and adolescent psychiatrists, all part of a comprehensive Behavioral Health Care Team. This team includes doctoral-level psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychotherapists, registered nurses, and clinical assistants. The Behavioral Health Division provides a wide spectrum of care for both children and adults, which encompasses inpatient psychiatric care, consult-liaison and emergency psychiatry, ECT procedures, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization services, as well as an outpatient behavioral health clinic. The division also integrates outreach through Integrated Behavioral Health providers and Telemedicine services to regional clinics. The Behavioral Health Team is composed of 9 adult and 4 child and adolescent psychiatrists, working within a full-time hospitalist model in the child psychiatry inpatient unit. The average caseload for the inpatient role is 12 children, aged 6-18 years. The comprehensive inpatient team includes family therapists, social workers, chemical dependency counselors, and behavioral health technicians, all contributing to robust programming. The overnight call for the inpatient position averages 1 in 8 days, and the psychiatrist will have access to immediate hospital medical services, including pediatric hospitalist consultation and full lab and imaging services in-house. The Amberwing facility, which is part of the program, provides Partial Hospitalization Programming and state-of-the-art mental health and substance abuse services for children, adolescents, and their families. Additionally, the facility offers on-site pediatric occupational therapy and a Birth to Kindergarten program. The hospital is designated as a NACHRI children's hospital, further emphasizing its commitment to pediatric care.
