About The Position

Atrium Health Levine Children’s (AHLC) is looking for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Pediatric Neurology team. The PNP, FNP, or PA-C will assist the team in providing care for children while under the supervision of and in collaboration with a licensed physician. This is a hybrid role encompassing both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. A minimum of three years of experience as an APP working in either Pediatrics or in Neurology. This position may be offered as full-time or part-time, with some virtual work options available based on experience. At 236 beds, Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) is the largest children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high patient acuity as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 150 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. LCH has repeatedly been ranked among the Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation by US News & World Report, most recently in eight pediatric specialties for 2023-2024. Levine Children’s hosts a well-regarded Pediatric Residency Program, serves as a teaching hospital for students at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In January 2023, Atrium Health broke ground on a second school of medicine campus- Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte – currently under construction in the heart of a new, life-sciences research-driven innovation district, named “The Pearl”. The medical school will seat its first class in 2025.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an APP working in either pediatrics or neurology.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required (NP Applicants).
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required (PA Applicants).

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred (PA Applicants)

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and recurring assessments as needed
  • Records findings of examinations, assessments, and plans of care.
  • Writes appropriate prescriptions, orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations, and determines treatment plan for patients.
  • Documents all patient encounters, observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner in the patient's medical record.
  • Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.
  • APP will work in outpatient center in Charlotte.
  • APP will also rotate through inpatient general neurology service.
