About The Position

Advance Community Healthcare, an FQHC, is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Physician. Pediatric Physicians at Advance Community Health are expected to provide quality acute and routine health care maintenance to patients in the first decades of life and serve as Advance’s experts in general pediatric medicine, growth and development monitoring and childhood immunization tracking.

Requirements

  • Physicians: A Medical degree and the successful completion of a residency or fellowship in pediatrics.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in pediatrics.
  • Board Certified/Eligible
  • Active North Carolina medical license to practice pediatrics.
  • Current DEA license

Responsibilities

  • Maintain focus on service to patients.
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of common pediatric medical problems and relevant therapies.
  • Appropriately order and follow-up on routine health maintenance, such as immunizations, growth and development, developmental delays, nutritional needs, and childhood fitness.
  • Demonstrate appropriate chronic disease management from a primary care standpoint (i.e. asthma, ADHD, seizures, cerebral palsy, chronic and functional abdominal pain, headaches, common congenital heart abnormalities and hemoglobinopathies). including medication management, laboratory testing and follow-up.
  • Demonstrate appropriate post-acute care of recently hospitalized patients.
  • Accurately document clinical visits in the EHR and complete notes in a timely fashion.
  • Submit accurate charges in a timely fashion (including timely response to queries and questions from the billing and coding department).
  • Involve social worker and ancillary staff, including nursing, care management, and medical assistants appropriately.
  • Address patient calls and requests in a timely fashion, including requests from pharmacies, home health, etc.)
  • Participates in regularly scheduled provider meetings and committees.
  • Appropriately supervises midlevel providers (when applicable) including periodic chart review and Quality initiatives.
