About The Position

Overview: Wood County Hospital (WCH) and Nationwide Children’s Hospital have partnered to bring additional resources and care to pediatric and neonatal patients in Bowling Green, Ohio. This affiliation allows pediatric patients an expanded level of expertise and resources offered by Nationwide Children’s in Toledo, Ohio. The combined resources of WCH and Nationwide Children’s Toledo will build upon the tremendous care already provided by WCH’s current pediatricians, obstetricians, and Emergency Room physicians. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm. There is also an opportunity to provide hospitalist services at Wood County Hospital in their newborn nursery, although not required. Annual births are less than 400, with rotating coverage. Bowling Green is in Wood County, home to Bowling Green University, and considered one of the best places to live in Ohio. Residents of Bowling Green are 25 miles from Toledo and 85 miles from Detroit, MI. Job Description Summary: Provides medical care and treatment to patients. Job Description: Essential Functions:

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
  • Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.
  • Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Unrestricted licensed physician, required.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.
  • Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the division.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
  • Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.
