About The Position

The Central Jersey Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Centers in the state of NJ. Our mission is to provide primary and preventative care to patients regardless of ability to pay, race, ethnicity, and cultural competence. CJMC has been able to expand to over 5 locations in the Middlesex and Essex County areas and provide services to our patients in specialties such as Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, as well as Dental care. Requirements

  • Candidate must be either board eligible or certified in Pediatrics.
  • Candidate must possess a valid NJ Medical License, CDS and DEA.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the individual and family health status of children, considering the needs as seen by the individual.
  • Secures health histories, performs physical examinations and screening tests.
  • Records acquired data in a systematic and accurate form.
  • Contributes to the health education of individuals and groups, and applies methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for his/her own health.
  • Plans and implements routine care practices in collaboration with medical and other health professionals.
  • Identifies and helps in the management of social, economic, and environmental influences affecting the patient and his family.
  • Assesses and manages common acute and chronic illnesses in accordance with protocols.
  • Prescribes selective medications while understanding orders of the physician.
  • Assists in managing and the planning for referral of complex health problems.
  • Assists in the establishment of policies and procedures relevant to comprehensive, longitudinal care.
  • Supports and carries out such policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the comprehensive care of sick children in ambulatory care setting in collaboration with the responsible physician.
  • Participates in outreach programs and screening programs for case identification and follow-up, and community health education.
  • Provides night call coverage by phone.
  • Within the health care team, uses principles of group development to better understand his/her colleagues and to make the health care [1]team more efficient and effective.
