Job Summary A Pediatrician is a medical doctor specialized in providing healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents. The primary focus of a pediatrician is to monitor and manage the physical, emotional, and social well-being of young patients from birth through adolescence. They play a crucial role in promoting healthy growth and development, preventing and treating illnesses, and ensuring overall well-being.

Requirements

Medical degree or DO from an accredited medical school.
Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty.
3 years residency training in a Pediatric Program.
State medical license.
Board Eligible or Board Certified Pediatrics.
Current State D.E.A. Certificate.
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassion and patience when working with children and their families.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience.
Advanced English is required.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience working with a multicultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs that are high quality and cost effective, preferred.
Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Medical Examination and Diagnosis - Conduct thorough medical examinations of infants, children, and adolescents. Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
Wellness and Preventive Care - Provide routine check-ups and vaccinations. Educate parents and caregivers on preventive healthcare measures and healthy lifestyle practices.
Monitoring Growth and Development - Monitor and track the growth and development of children, identifying any deviations or concerns.
Treatment Planning and Prescription - Develop personalized treatment plans for children with acute or chronic conditions. Prescribe medications, therapies, or other interventions as necessary.
Patient and Family Education - Discuss treatment options and provide guidance on managing pediatric health issues.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams - Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. Consult with specialists when necessary.
Medical Record Keeping - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
Emergency Care - Respond to pediatric emergencies and provide immediate care.
Continuing Education - Continuous learning and professional development.
Community Engagement - Conduct educational outreach to promote child health and well-being.
