Requirements

  • Successful completion of pediatric residency program
  • Board eligible/Board certified
  • Unrestricted and active California Physician License
  • Current BLS, ACLS, CA DEA certification prior to start date

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of pediatric medical conditions, including chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and heart disease.
  • Round in nursery and attend growth-focused marketing events for clinics.
  • Conduct routine and preventive care visits, screenings, and wellness checks to promote long-term health and early detection of disease.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and lab work.
  • Develop evidence-based, personalized care plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
  • Manage a continuity panel of pediatric patients, ensuring appropriate follow-up and long-term care.
  • Document patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment plans accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, behavioral health professionals, and other providers as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and initiatives tied to clinical performance metrics and value-based care goals.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate care tailored to Houston’s diverse community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
