About The Position

Perform the duties required to direct the clinical evaluation and management of the physical, mental and social aspects of patient care. The physician provides leadership to the healthcare team as well as implements Affinia Healthcare policies and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine (MD/DO).
  • Licensed as a Physician in the State of Missouri.
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Complete pediatric residency.
  • Requires strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability, skills, and knowledge to recognize, and treat patients of that specific specialty.
  • Has the Leadership ability to coordinate a Specific Project or Service.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
  • Maintain Medical license necessary for practice including Missouri State physician.
  • Maintain Pediatric Board Certification
  • Missouri BNDD and Federal DEA
  • CPR/BLS Certification

  • Preference given to experience in an urban, community health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Pediatric clinic sessions with an evidence based, trauma informed, and equity framework. Works within a health care team including nurses, behavioral health, dental, physical function, etc. to provide high quality care for all patients.
  • Interviews and examines patients to support and diagnose problems and enhance well-being. Treats illnesses within clinical limits. Consults with specialized consultant physicians regarding patients as needed.
  • Refers patients as required to other health centers or hospitals for future testing and/or treatment.
  • Prescribes medicine as appropriate.
  • Attends training and provides Parenting/Infant Group care as required.
  • Cooperates in preparing claims for third party insurance billing.
  • Provides medical supervision to medical staff/students/residents as agreed.
  • Provides collaboration with Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants as assigned.
  • Works with health center team to provide high quality health care to all patients.
  • Contributes ideas for improvement of health center operations.
  • Participates in record review and Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, and staff committees.
  • Serves as "on call' physician as scheduled in rotation with other providers.
  • Participates in community health education and prevention efforts.
  • Records findings in patient's medical records according to clinical guidelines and established procedures.
  • Maintains productivity and quality standards established by federal guidelines and Center's Productivity Committee.
  • Adheres to clinical best practices of the health center.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Attends Clinician and Agency meetings as required.
  • Represents Affinia Healthcare in the community and via partnerships as needed.
  • Attends CME sessions and completed Affinia Healthcare mandatory education required.
