About The Position
The Medical Assistant at PM Pediatrics plays a crucial role in supporting the mission, vision, and goals of the organization. This position is designed for a pediatric medical assistant to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting, assisting with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the direct supervision of a physician. The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining effective working relationships with all customers, including patients and families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. This role is integral to the patient care team, ensuring that all clinical and administrative functions are performed efficiently and effectively. In this position, the Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients upon arrival, obtaining medical histories, measuring patient vital signs, and preparing patients for X-rays. The Medical Assistant will also perform and document routine laboratory tests, assist with wound care, and help in quality control testing in the lab. Maintaining the cleanliness and order of exam rooms and the waiting area is essential, as is practicing standard safety precautions and responding to emergencies as needed. The Medical Assistant will enhance the healthcare practice's reputation by accepting ownership of new and challenging requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. This role requires a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and providing exceptional customer service, including assisting patients with complaints and participating in service recovery when necessary. The position may also involve applying splints and assisting nurses or providers in other medical procedures as needed.
