About The Position
The Medical Assistant at PM Pediatrics plays a crucial role in supporting the mission, vision, and goals of the organization. This position is designed for a pediatric medical assistant to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting, assisting with primary patient care tailored to individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the direct supervision of a physician. The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including patients and their families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. In this role, the Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support to ensure smooth office operations and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients upon arrival, obtaining medical histories, measuring vital signs, and preparing patients for X-rays. The Medical Assistant will also perform and document routine laboratory tests, assist with wound care, and participate in quality control testing in the lab. This position is integral to the patient care team, requiring the Medical Assistant to assist with patient care within their scope of practice while maintaining a clean and well-stocked environment in exam rooms and the waiting area. The Medical Assistant will practice standard safety precautions, respond to emergencies, and maintain patient confidentiality. They will enhance the healthcare practice's reputation by taking ownership of their responsibilities and exploring opportunities to add value to their job. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist patients with complaints and engage in service recovery when necessary, ensuring exceptional customer service is provided at all times.
