A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner joining our team will enjoy a supportive, collaborative environment with strong physician partnership and ample resources across all pediatric primary care clinics. This role is primarily based on the east side of Sioux Falls with the opportunity to provide coverage at other pediatric locations as needed, offering both continuity and variety in daily practice. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no on call responsibilities, supporting excellent work–life balance. This position allows the provider to deliver comprehensive, high quality care to children and families while being part of a well established, team oriented pediatric department committed to exceptional patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
  • State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
  • National board certification as Pediatric Primary Care (CPNP-PC) or (PPCNP-BC), Family (FNP-C) or (FNP-BC)
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
  • Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatric primary care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough physical examinations and health assessments for children of all ages.
  • Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses and injuries.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, X-rays, and screenings.
  • Manage chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and developmental disorders.
  • Provide immunizations, preventive care, and anticipatory guidance.
  • Educate patients and families on nutrition, growth, development, and disease prevention.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources as needed.
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention programs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
