About The Position

Woodston Personnel is currently seeking a highly qualified Consultant in Pediatric Surgery to join our esteemed client’s healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to excellence in pediatric surgical care and will play a vital role in the management of a diverse range of surgical conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. The Consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical services, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative procedures, and post-operative care. This position demands a collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while adhering to the highest standards of clinical practice.

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
  • Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of pediatric surgical procedures, including but not limited to abdominal surgery, thoracic surgery, and minimally invasive techniques.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Collaborate closely with pediatricians, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior surgical staff and fellows, fostering an environment of learning and professional development.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines aimed at improving surgical outcomes.
  • Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to ongoing research projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, risks, and post-operative care strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and educational seminars to stay current with advancements in pediatric surgery.
