About The Position

This is a part-time PRN position for a Speech Language Pathologist at Advocate Health, located in Greenfield. The role requires working 20-30 hours per week from November 2025 through January 2026, with Saturday hours from 8 am to 12 pm, and 30-40 hours per week from February 2026 through May 2026. After these date ranges, PRN hours will be available. The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $56.25 per hour.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited school.
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or CFY eligibility.
  • No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician referrals and conducts speech and language evaluations of patients with various disorders.
  • Establishes and implements a written plan of care based on evaluation results and functional goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Identifies factors affecting patient comfort and addresses these needs.
  • Plans and completes patient discharge, including home programs and referrals.
  • Communicates and collaborates with stakeholders to achieve optimum patient care.
  • Completes required documentation following department policy and accreditation standards.
  • Records patient care and progress for each assigned patient.
  • Completes daily statistics, billing, and scheduling.
  • Applies insurance guidelines regarding authorization and number of visits.
  • Maintains established productivity standards.
  • Cleans up after patient treatment and keeps the area neat and orderly.
  • Demonstrates skill in the use of modalities and exercise equipment.
  • Promotes patient safety and participates in safety initiatives.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Manages assigned caseload and informs site leadership of coverage needs.
  • Pursues professional growth through continuing education and department in-services.
  • Orients new staff to clinical and department policies.
  • May supervise non-licensed personnel and delegate tasks to assistive personnel.
  • Supports the student clinical education program by monitoring and providing direction to students.
