About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children (birth to 5 years) with developmental delays and communication disorders. This role involves collaboration with families, caregivers, educators, and a multidisciplinary team to support each child’s optimal communication development. We offer flexible scheduling on your terms, with the ability to build your own caseload. Summers are yours — with the option to work Time as Reported at your own pace if you choose. Clinical and itinerant positions are available. Mileage reimbursement is provided for part-time and full-time salaried employees. Mentorship is available and encouraged. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred (Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered)
  • Current New York State Teacher Certification (TSSLD or TSHH)
  • Experience working with pediatric populations in clinical, school, or home settings
  • Strong knowledge of child language development and speech disorders
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to sit, stand, and engage in physical play or therapy as needed
  • Must be able to lift and carry therapy materials and assist with mobility needs of children

Responsibilities

  • Conduct developmental assessments to evaluate a variety of communication disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IFSPs/IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams, including educators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and early childhood specialists
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in natural environments, homes, daycare centers, or preschool classrooms using developmentally appropriate play-based strategies
  • Coach and educate caregivers and teachers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to integrate into daily routines
  • Monitor and document progress and adjust interventions based on child development and family goals
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, transition planning, case conferences, and service coordination
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports in accordance with agency and state regulations
  • Educate families on techniques and strategies to support communication development at home
  • Stay current with best practices, continuing education, and licensure requirement
