We are currently hiring for: IMMEDIATE NEED: Full-Time North Charleston & Hanahan community (daycares and early intervention) Ladson, SC- independent contractor PM appointments in clinic Summerville/North Charleston mornings within daycares and early intervention + Ladson, SC clinic afternoons

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology (SLP), Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), Communication Disorders (MCD) or equivalent program OR a current State of South Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant license (SC LLR).
  • Must be licensed (or pursuing CF licensure) in the state of South Carolina with the SCLLR as an SLP and maintain the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association
  • Knowledge and understanding of children’s developmental stages from ages 0-18 to properly analyze the growth, movement (motor), cognitive, and maturation process/transition between skill levels.
  • Previous pediatric experience is required through employment or clinical rotation.

Nice To Haves

  • AAC & Feeding experience are a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate hearing and speech/language test results and medical background information to diagnose and create individualized treatment plans for speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Identify patients who could benefit from AAC and trial various devices and support family to obtain medically necessary equipment.
  • Successfully complete AAC evaluation reports, with clinical support.
  • Accept, evaluate, and treat feeding patients
  • Record therapy notes (SOAP), patient observations, evaluation reports, care plans (POCs), and discharge of clients
  • Design, develop, and employ alternative diagnostic or communication devices and strategies.
  • Instruct clients in techniques for more effective carryover of strategies and techniques.
  • Develop individualized speech therapy exercise programs and home programs for families to implement, to facilitate generalization across settings.
  • Ensure regular communication with parents or caregivers and educate/instruct patients and family members in strategies to facilitate progress.
