About The Position

We provide comprehensive evidence-based services to help individuals maximize their potential. Our centers offer a multi-disciplinary environment, working with teams in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology where you can continue to learn and grow! We are looking for another SLP to join our team! Please see below for more details about the role. As a Speech-Language Pathologist at Lumen, your primary responsibility includes evaluating children, plan treatment programs and provide speech therapy interventions in order to maximize the value, potential, and satisfaction of our clients.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to achieve certification.
  • Ability to provide negative TB test results.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose communication and feeding disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals for each client based on their unique needs and abilities
  • Create goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions based on the client's individual treatment plan.
  • Counsel, educate and advise clients and their families regarding communicative, cognitive and swallowing functioning, and develops home programs for client as needed.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner according to Lumen Pediatric Therapy’s policy (We use Hi Rasmus!)
  • Complete re-evaluations yearly to document progress and continued eligibility.
  • Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of clients, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for client and family.
  • Attend clinic or payor required ongoing trainings to advance clinical practice & professional development.
  • Assist with additional clinical and/or administrative duties as delegated
