Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program or RDMS registered.
  • Ultrasound program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Must have completed Physics portion of RDMS registry.
  • RDMS registered or registry eligible.
  • Must obtain RDMS in Pediatric Ultrasound within 24 months of hire date.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI clearances with renewals.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of ultrasound experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Covers call and off-shifts on a rotational basis.
  • Performs a variety of technical ultrasound procedures to assist in a patient’s medical diagnosis.
  • Displays knowledge of equipment operations, anatomy, and scanning techniques resulting in optimized image data/documentation.
  • Documents and considers patient history, laboratory data, and physical findings.
  • Ensures all exams are properly coded and networked through appropriate systems, and ensures all charges are correct for exams performed.
  • Assists with training staff, student sonographers, and physicians.
  • May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies, and/or equipment.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
