A Brief Overview Known as "SWAT RN" within the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, this unique and exciting full time pediatric rotational Nurse position with a premium rate and benefits supports multiple locations: Voorhees NJ, Brandywine Valley in Glen Mills PA and Philadelphia Campus. The ideal candidate must have 2 years pediatric experience in both OR RN scrubbing and circulating experience in the following: ENT, Urology, Dental, Sports Medicine, General Surgery, Plastics and Ophthalmology. NJ and PA RN license or compact licensure required. The SWAT nurse is a highly skilled, highly trained experienced nurse who provides support to both the ASCs and the main hospital. The SWAT nurse is able to function independently to provide safe, quality and clinically competent care. The SWAT nurse is able to plan, implement, evaluate and document care that is in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

NJ and PA RN license or compact licensure required
Technical Diploma Nursing - Required
At least two (2) years Operating Room Experience - Required or
At least one (1) year PACU or critical care nursing experience - Required and
At least one (1) year Pediatric nursing experience - Required

Responsibilities

Follows Nursing Process to deliver safe care: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Synthesizes patient assessment data and recognizes complex situations prior to communicating with care team.
Collaborates with family, team members, and other caregivers to initiate/update plan of care, patient/family education, and discharge needs.
Manages care of complex patients utilizing proper prioritization and delegation to appropriate staff.
Identifies expected outcomes, revises plan of care when unexpected outcomes arise, and begins to use full range of communication as a means of conveying plan.
Documents ongoing evaluation and effectiveness of patient care utilizing current hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
