Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) Part-Time

About the position

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking Part-Time Registered Nurses for our Pediatric Specialty Hospital. This position works a minimum of 40 hours per pay period (two weeks) with two weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Our Pediatric Specialty Hospital offers a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio. RNs provide competent, developmentally appropriate, professional, and quality nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, utilizing the nursing process and assuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, institutional and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, developmentally appropriate, professional, and quality nursing care.
• Apply clinical nursing knowledge and skills utilizing the nursing process.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, institutional, and professional standards.

Requirements

• Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum of two years of experience in nursing.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Current CPR certification.
• Analytical ability to assess and evaluate patients' conditions.
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with patients, family members, and medical staff.
• Physical ability for constant standing, walking, and lifting 10 to 50 lbs.
• Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively under daily pressure.
