At this level one trauma center, dietitians play an integral role on multidisciplinary teams in many specialty areas, both in the 675 bed inpatient setting, as well as in over 50 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community service experiences. This part-time Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) position offers a flexible opportunity to support one or more of our inpatient pediatric teams, with potential coverage in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition; Pediatric Hematology/Oncology; and/or the Pediatric Acute Care Unit. The weekly commitment can range from 8 to 20 hours, tailored to the applicant's availability and interests. This role includes providing specialized nutrition support for infants, children, and adolescents with complex medical needs. Candidates are encouraged to pursue advanced certification such as CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) or CSP (Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition) within two years of hire to enhance clinical expertise and professional growth.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing/Credentialing Board, in states where required
Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming

Responsibilities

Provides medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population
Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable
Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs
