About The Position

The Department of Radiology offers a unique opportunity for a Pediatric Radiologist interested in an academic career to join the Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. The primary work location is the American Family Children's Hospital, a 111-bed pediatric hospital and a level 1 trauma center with 64 general care, 21 PICU, and 26 level 4 NICU beds. UW Pediatric Radiology also provides coverage for a 42-bed, level 3 NICU at Meriter Hospital across town, associated with a birthing center. Additional outreach sites for teleradiology only are in Mauston, WI, Fort Atkinson, WI, Richland Center, WI and Rockford, IL. Full time is preferred but consideration may be given for an appointment at less than 100 percent. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants who are interested in pursuing an academic career in the Pediatric Radiology section will be considered for the titles listed: Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. The Pediatric Radiology group provides coverage of nearly all modalities of pediatric radiology including pediatric radiographs, body US/ MR/CT, fetal body MR, neonatal head, and spine ultrasound, MSK CT and MR, and standard pediatric fluoroscopic procedures. Most interventional procedures and higher-end neuroradiology imaging are currently performed by our Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology sections. Department teaching assignments include medical students, residents, fellows, and other professionals. Clinical research is expected with the CHS track. Requirements

  • WI medical license is required by start date of position.
  • Board certified or board eligible by American Board of Radiology is required by start date of position.
  • Certificate of Added Qualification (CA) eligible or certified in Pediatric Radiology is required by start date of position.
  • Completion of Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Pediatric Radiology fellowship or sub-specialty is required by start date of position.
  • MD, DO, or equivalent is required by start date of position.
