About The Position

The Swank Autism Center and the Division of Behavioral Health at Nemours Children’s Health – Delaware (formerly Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children) is seeking an experienced, evidence-based psychologist to join our team. This position will focus on feeding evaluation and treatment, autism diagnostic services, and supervising trainees in working with patients and families from the larger Delaware Valley community. The Swank Autism Center provides comprehensive evaluation and intervention support services for children up to age 21 years. Our feeding services offer a person/family-centered, neurodiversity-affirming, interdisciplinary approach that includes behavioral strategies and parent-mediated support. The psychologist will be part of a multidisciplinary clinical team who will collaborate with providers in developmental medicine, psychiatry, social work, applied behavior analysis, nutrition, and therapy services, as well as colleagues who are autistic and/or caregivers. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about, and committed to, leading efforts to provide culturally relevant, neuro-affirming care, reducing health disparities, and helping build a diverse and inclusive team environment. Autistic/neurodivergent applicants would be welcomed. Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills are highly valued. This role includes opportunities to participate in program development, leadership, advocacy, and community outreach. In addition, there will be opportunities for quality improvement and research initiatives. Psychologists are members of the medical staff at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and are supported with applying for an academic appointment through the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.

Requirements

  • PhD/PsyD degree from an APA-accredited clinical, counseling, or school psychology program.
  • Pre-doctoral Internship training from an APA-accredited site, and at least one year of postdoctoral experience in a child-focused setting.
  • Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations for Autism and co-occurring conditions, including experience administering and scoring the ADOS-2.
  • Commitment to supporting and providing culturally-informed and neurodiversity-affirming care
  • License-eligible in the state of Delaware.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting feeding services with autistic or medically complex pediatric patients, ideally in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills
