The position is for a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatrics department at Advocate Health, located in DesPlaines. The role involves delivering quality clinical care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring compliance with established guidelines. The RN will participate in patient care, manage clinical duties, and support a safe environment for patients and staff. The position typically requires working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with clinic hours extending to evenings and Saturdays. A sign-on bonus of $5000 is offered for external hires.

  • Participates in the delivery of quality clinical care.
  • Works closely with healthcare team and physician to assure triage, telephone assessments, home therapies and patient visits are consistent with established guidelines.
  • Takes a lead role with the clinical team to meet/exceed CI goals.
  • Assists physicians and associates in managing patient registries.
  • Ensures staff adherence to timely and accurate documentation of all patient care services.
  • Supports a safe environment for patients and associates through effective monitoring of staff compliance.
  • Acts as a role model and champion for Culture of Safety.
  • Promotes and educates staff on the reporting system to report all events and near miss events.
  • Leads and participates in site clinical integration activities.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and resolves potential safety problems.
  • Ensures monthly office inspection checklist and other required audits are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates independent problem solving and critical decision making.
  • Holds clinical staff accountable to AMG rooming standards.
  • Ensures the timely management of EMR tasks, overdue orders, test result follow-up and other patient follow-up.
  • Demonstrates appropriate action and takes a lead role in emergency situations.
  • Collaborates with the manager/director and physician leadership to maintain a patient-centered environment.
  • Supports manager in monitoring data on a monthly basis and develops improvement plans.
  • Conducts frequent assessments of patient flow and takes appropriate steps to reduce wait times.
  • Responsible for conveying a professional image in compliance with AMG standards.
  • Fosters a pleasant and professional environment, in person and over the phone.
  • Ensures adequate clinical staffing at all times by overseeing schedules and assignments.
  • Supports initiatives that enhance practice growth and retention of existing patients.
  • Collaborates with the practice manager on Human Resource functions related to associates.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and daily huddles with associates.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of an operationally efficient and physician/provider friendly work environment.
  • Actively participates in meetings, committees, and projects.
  • Graduate from accredited school of nursing.
  • 5+ years of nursing experience.
  • Current RN Licensure in State of Illinois.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient with keyboard and computers.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, ADA, DOT regulations, CDC guidelines, Workman's Comp Laws if applicable.
