About The Position

Little Angeles is a leading PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care) facility in Orlando dedicated to providing exceptional medical day care services for children with special needs. We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our energetic team of therapists and nursing staff. Are you a PTA wants to step into the pediatric field? No problem, we can give you the support and guidance you need to become a successful pediatric PTA. The Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate physical therapy services to medically complex and developmentally delayed children in a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) setting. The PTA works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to promote mobility, strength, functional independence, and overall quality of life for children with chronic conditions, disabilities, and medical fragility.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Active Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license in good standing
  • Pediatric or early intervention experience preferred
  • Experience with medically complex or special-needs children strongly preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist pediatric patients safely
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work across multiple locations

Responsibilities

  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapeutic interventions focusing on gross motor development, balance, mobility, posture, and strength
  • Assist children with neuromuscular, orthopedic, genetic, and developmental conditions
  • Monitor and document patient progress, tolerance, and response to therapy interventions in compliance with Medicaid and AHCA standards
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and caregivers to ensure coordinated care
  • Assist with positioning, adaptive equipment use, gait training, and mobility aids
  • Ensure therapy areas and equipment are safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate
  • Educate caregivers and staff on therapeutic positioning and mobility techniques as directed
  • Travel between PPEC locations as scheduled to meet patient care needs
  • Comply with HIPAA, infection control, safety policies, and PPEC regulations
