We are currently hiring for an experienced Physical Therapist: Greenville: Part-Time or Independent Contractor serving preschools, early intervention and clinic.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited university with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or a graduate degree that the APTA recognizes
  • A current State of South Carolina professional license (SC LLR).
  • Knowledge and understanding of children’s developmental stages from ages 0-18 to properly analyze the growth, movement (motor), cognitive, and maturation process/transition between skill levels.
  • Previous pediatric experience is required through employment or clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat children with a variety of developmental disorders, gross motor movement dysfunction, and orthopedic disorders.
  • Evaluate assessment and test results and medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for ambulation, strengthening, gross motor, core, balance, and vestibular disorders.
  • Identify patients who could benefit from orthotics or adaptive equipment and support family to obtain medically necessary equipment
  • Accept a variety of patients to treat various diagnoses, including more specific treatment/strategy techniques (NDT, toe walking, DMI, sensory/behavior, etc.) and can treat with minimal oversight
  • Identify patients who could benefit from orthotics or adaptive equipment and support family to obtain medically necessary equipment
  • Record therapy notes, patient observations, evaluation reports, care plans, and discharge of clients following standard guidelines regarding accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness
  • Instruct clients in techniques for more effective carryover of strategies and techniques.
  • Develop physical therapy exercise programs and home programs for families to implement, to reduce disabilities.
  • Ensure regular communication with parents or caregivers and educate/instruct patients and family members in strategies to facilitate progress.
