About The Position

The Pediatric Physical Therapist is a full-time, hourly position responsible for providing evaluation, treatment, and ongoing care for children from birth through age 18. This role focuses on improving functional mobility, strength, coordination, and independence through evidence-based physical therapy services. Therapists at The Therapy Place work with a wide range of diagnoses, including gross motor delays, neuromuscular and developmental disorders, orthopedic conditions, and mobility limitations. You will develop individualized plans of care, provide hands-on treatment, and collaborate closely with families to support carryover into home and community environments. This position offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, educators, and support staff. Therapists may also collaborate within the Bridges School program, supporting an integrated therapy and education model. This is a full-time, hourly role with consistent scheduling and the opportunity to earn overtime based on caseload and clinic needs. Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Eligible for and maintains South Carolina Physical Therapy licensure
  • Experience or strong interest in pediatric physical therapy
  • Strong clinical reasoning and ability to adapt treatment to individual needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for working with children and supporting families

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Provide direct, evidence-based therapy services to pediatric patients
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Educate caregivers and provide home exercise programs to support carryover
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, orthotics, and mobility supports as appropriate
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic, state, and payer requirements
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and professional standards
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, educators, and administrative staff
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care coordination
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and students as assigned
  • Participate in trainings, continuing education, and professional development
