About The Position

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Pediatric Optometrist to join a well-established community practice at the Minnesota Lions Children’s Eye Clinic. University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a candidate who will deliver high quality optometric care to pediatric patient at various clinical sites throughout the metro. Position Overview: The Optometrist performs procedures using independent professional judgement in the practice of optometry and within the guidelines of the State of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry
  • Licensed or have the ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Optometry licensure
  • Minnesota Diagnostic and Therapeutic Drug License
  • BLS (basic life support) certification or certification within orientation period
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
  • Experience performing pediatric eye exams, routine eye care, contact lens services, and management duties
  • Experience in pediatric ocular disease management and interpreting advanced technology
  • Proficient in the use and interpretation of standard ophthalmic equipment
  • Exceptional professional skills focusing on patient care and collaboration

Responsibilities

  • The Optometrist performs procedures using independent professional judgement in the practice of optometry and within the guidelines of the State of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians.
  • May include hospital consults in addition to ambulatory clinic operations
