About The Position

Our centers offer a multi-disciplinary environment, working with teams in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology where you can continue to learn and grow! As an Occupational Therapist your primary responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, creating treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic activities, and communicating patients' progress to their parents and other medical professionals.

Requirements

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with at least 1-2 years’ experience providing direct therapy to pediatric clientele, implementing assessments, developing intervention plans, and working on collaborative teams.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift, squat, bend, push/pull 50 pounds as needed for therapy services
  • Desire for continued learning opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Perform Occupational Therapy assessments and develops and implements treatment plans focusing on improving/restoring independence and physical/cognitive functioning.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions based on the client's individual treatment plan.
  • Provide guidance & instruction to family members of developed therapeutic, creative, and self-care procedures/activities and explains adaptive, progressive approaches and compensatory strategies.
  • Conduct functional, cognitive, and sensory re-evaluations, as indicated, to assess the need for any revisions in the treatment plan.
  • Provide consultation to other members of the child's care team in the use of necessary equipment, techniques, modalities, and basic activity programs, when needed.
  • Maintain clinical documentation and progress notes.
  • Submits all required paperwork in a timely manner according to Lumen Pediatric Therapy’s policy.
  • Complete re-evaluations yearly to document progress and continued eligibility.
  • Work collaboratively with other therapists, providers, administrators, and school staff for effective programs and follow the specified program routines and schedules.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for client and family.
  • Attend clinic or payor required ongoing trainings to advance clinical practice & professional development.
  • Assist with additional clinical and/or administrative duties as delegate
